Advent in Provence is a magical time of year—friends and family gather together, prepare and eat delicious meals, and most of all slow down and savor every moment. Decorating the Christmas tree is high on the list of priorities, as is making foie gras and delectable desserts.
The latter inspired our new holiday advent calendar, festively named Les Treize Desserts after one of Provence’s most famous traditions. It all starts at The Christmas Market where you shop for ingredients—dried fruits, dates, mendiants, marzipan, nougat, pompes a l’huile, dried apricots, and sweet brioche are all on the list. These treats are then served on the table for Christmas Eve, totaling thirteen to honor Christ and his twelve apostles.
Our advent calendar opens to reveal a colorful illustration of life in Aix, including our inviting and cozy bastide, the fountain and its healing waters, an outdoor table for two to evoke friendship and intimacy, the perfect bicycle with which to ride to and from the market, and the Bastide flagship which we call our second home. Compartments reveal thirteen of our best-selling beauty delights and a fourteenth, art-inspired surprise we know you’ll be excited about. It represents one of our most cherished beliefs at Bastide: finding joy in the little things.
The advent calendar makes the perfect gift—for a loved one who adores beauty, a friend in need of some much-deserved pampering, and even yourself for some end-of-the-year indulgence.
